Sophia Leang is a freelance filmmaker based in New York City.

From early on, Cambodian-American; Sophia Leang knew she wanted a career in film production. Although she was unsure in what capacity she wanted to become involved, her love and drive to work within the craft was palpable. It was that unyielding hunger that lead the film student to seek first hand, real world experience. In 2002, the Bronx, New York native set out to spend a semester in none other than the nation's epicenter of blockbuster productions, Hollywood, California.

While in Los Angeles, the diligent Sophia landed an internship at Partizan, a highly recognized music video, commercial, and film production company. There she had the opportunity to assist and train with a demanding production team and work on set as a Production Assistant under several accomplished directors such as; Michel Gondry, Chris Robinson, and the husband and wife duo Honey.

Sophia returned home to the east coast in 2003 and continued to hone her production skills. Using her refined skills, the college senior completed her first short film Second Chance serving as both Producer and Director. Upon the completion of her first short, she took a position as Production Coordinator at a non-profit community television BronxNet and began making short films and music videos with other NYC filmmakers who share her drive and ambition.

After a few years of working on and off set and serving in various film job capacities, Sophia discovered her passion in producing. After identifying her passion, she connected with several talented directors and started to produce music videos, narrative films, and commercials.

While Sophia continues to be the jack-of-all-trades, she is steadily climbing the ranks as a young sought-after Producer.

Sophia currently resides in Brooklyn with her loving and talented husband Bryan Soto.
